Jose Eber Event

I had the privilege of attending an event at the Jose Eber salon with my friend Melissa (AKA Missy or as most people know her the beautiful & inspiring woman behind the blog of pinkpistachio). Melissa and I met back in the good ole days when we both worked at Juicy couture in Charlotte, NC. Though I only worked with her for a month (because I ended up moving to Texas a little over a month after we met), we shared a huge thing in common and that was our love for cute clothes and anything adorable which developed into a long distance friendship for the past five years. She is now my go to person when I have a fashion question, need a pep talk, or just need to be reminded that God has a plan even though sometimes we do not understand it. I really think it was his plan for me to land the job at Juicy just so I could meet her along with a few other amazing girls I still keep in contact with. I was so excited I got to see her last month and honored she asked me to attend the event with her! We spent the evening at Jose Eber catching up and stuffing our faces with chicken skewers, bruschetta and cake pops while she was getting dolled up. I got to play paparazzi and snap her pictures and I may or may not have gotten a free pedicure out of the deal at the salon. The stylists at Jose Eber made her look amazing (not that she even needs help) but it was a night I will never forget and definitely so good to see her! Thanks again Missy! :) Check out more pictures on her blog seen here.

Spring is in the Air

Dress: Zara

Holy moly! I cannot believe it is already May! Where has the time gone seriously ya’ll? It is time to start busting out the white dresses and for me that means working on these ghostly white legs! I have been waiting on the perfect opportunity to wear this cream dress from Zara and I just couldn’t wait any longer and it was finally the perfect weather to bust it out. Hope everyone has had a fabulous week so far xoxo- Julie

Something Inherited: Boho

Dress: Tobi purchase here

Oh well hello friends! Long time no bloglovin. I know, I know. I have been quite the little traveler these days and it’s just so hard to keep up with posting on this blog of mine.  I went to Arkansas last month (twice actually) once for a wedding (Teryns wedding) and the other was a little unexpected & sad visit, but it was great to see family and friends. While I was there I inherited this cute little scarf that I am wearing in the pictures from my grandmother who passed. This will definitely be one I treasure forever. I decided it would go perfect with this long black dress I purchased a while back from Tobi. It made for the perfect bohemian outfit( though it is a little revealing and I definitely got more than a few stares and not the good ones the ones as in “what is she wearing”) oh well I liked it and that’s what matters right? How has everyone been lately? Miss you and love you all!

A Sister is a Forever Friend

“She is your mirror, shinning back at you with a world of possibilities. She is your witness who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway. She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling even in the dark. She is your teacher, your defense, your attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink. Some days, she’s the reason you wish you were an only child”. – Barbara Alp

Meet my sister Jenny. She is 2 years older than me, a couple inches taller, and so much comedy when you are in her presence. When I went to Arkansas over Christmas we took these pictures and I wanted to share them with you that are loyal readers to my blog and have been following me when I have been MIA. I found this quote above through pinterest and it is spot on of how our relationship is. She is the first person I go to every time I get a new idea (which let me tell you is around maybe 15 a day) yet still supports every single one.  The first person I call for advice because she gives it to me straight up even if it’s not what I want to hear. When I first started my blog she was promoting it through facebook saying how proud she was. The reality of it is- I am proud of her. If it wasn’t for her being such a great leader, mentor, and sister to look up to, I probably wouldn’t be where I am today. Seeing her graduate high school, go straight to college, and exceed in her career in criminal justice is what pushed me to follow in her footsteps and do the same. I went for my dreams and move out west to try new opportunities and more times than others I wish we lived closer. Sometimes in life we are reminded at times that we need to tell our loved ones how much we care, love and appreciate them for all that they do and I definitely don’t tell her enough. So why not through my blog and share a little personal part of my life ehh? Hope everyone enjoys a few clips from our photo shoot, we had a lot of fun even though I got yelled at a few times because “her heels were stuck on the train tracks.” Lesson learned next time wear better shoes. :)

Christmas Day 2012

Happy Friday! I know, I know it has been a while again! I am just terrible lately at this blogging thing here lately! I haven’t been so well when it comes to time management and blogging. With that being said, I also cannot believe how fast this year has flown by! It seems like I blinked and it was 2013! This year brought so many new things for me including this blog, a new place to call home, a new opportunity with SMP, a lot of new friends, weddings, etc. I am really looking forward to this next year and seeing what it will bring. I took these photos on Christmas day in Arkansas. Though I love the weather in Sunny California, I do miss the seasons changing and seeing the snow so it was really nice to have a white Christmas. Hope everyone has had a great holiday season and a Happy New Year! One of my resolutions is to focus on my blog and my career path this year so I promise I will be updating more frequently! :)

Black Jeggings

I still don’t really know how I feel about these black leather pleather jeggings? I purchased them around 2 months ago and couldn’t bring myself to wear them until here recently when a group of my girlfriends and I went out. I see them in magazines and my friends wearing them and they look so cute and I put them on and feel like I should be out walking the streets. What’s the deal? Maybe I just need to figure out something better to pair them with or maybe I will just let my friends and the celebs keep rocking the trend, but for now this is all I got. Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

Ross Scores Again

I tell you what, everytime I walk into Ross, Marshals, or TJ Maxx its guarenteed I am going to be walking out with a thinner wallet. I went a week or so ago for new running shoes and came out with 2 bags of stuff that I did not need with this shirt being one of them. I just couldn’t leave something as cute and classic as this sitting there in the store. It was only $20 and let me tell you I have already wore this 3 times! It is SO easy to dress up with leggings and heels or dress down with a slouchy boot or flat.

A cozy sweater

This sweater is seriously the most perfect for fall in San Diego. I purchased it at forever 21 a few weeks back and just got the chance to put it into use this week due to some weather changes that I am loving. It looks pretty bulky, but it is actually really light weight, and cozy enough to throw on with leggings and boots. Only $24 and a $24 well spent if I don’t say so myself.
